A Night with Catherine McCall

The Mayor’s Youth Commission is pleased to offer A Night with Catherine McCall. A fundraiser to raise money for Linden High School Senior Class of 2024 Scholarships.

  • What: A Night with Catherine McCall; the Mayor’s Youth Commission fundraiser to raise money for Linden High School Senior Class of 2024 Scholarships. There will be a concession with baked goods, snacks and beverages available for purchase, as well as door prizes.
  • When: April 19, 2024. Doors will open at 6:15pm. Show will begin at 7pm sharp until 9:30pm.
  • Where: Linden High School Auditorium, which is located at West St. Georges Avenue.
  • How:

    • After completing the form below, make sure to purchase tickets/donate!
    • Keep your receipt of payment, it will serve as your ticket(s) for entry to the event.
    • Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Where: School #9, which is located at 1401 Deerfield Terrace.
  • When: March 12, from 5pm until 8pm.

    • Social Secuirty Card.
    • Permanent Resident Card or U.S. Citizenship Certificate.
    • Birth Certificate.
    • Proof of income.

Keeping Our Students Safe

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and Linden Public Schools announce “Keeping Our Students Safe” Public Service Announcement (PSA) Student Video Contest, as part of the “It Takes a Village” initiative. Students may submit a PSA video focused on ways to positively enhance school safety and security.

  • Who: All Linden Public School students from elementary to high school.
  • What: A student video contest focused on ways to positively enhance school safety and security. Prizes will be awarded as follows:
    • $500 Elementary Level
    • $750 Middle School Level
    • $1,000 High School Level
  • When: The submission deadline is Friday, March 1, 2024 at 4pm. Winners will be announced at the March 21, 2024 at the Board Meeting.
  • How: Send the video to Mr. Chris Paskewich by email here. Click here for the criteria for submission and permission slip that must be attached. Students can submit their videos individually or with peers from their school-level group. The High School and Middle School submissions should be a minimum of 2 minutes, but not longer than 5 minutes. Elementary submissions should be a minimum of 1 minute, but not more than 3 minutes.

Hometown Heroes 2023

Linden High School Navy Junior Reserve OfficerTraining Corps (NJROTC) students had the opportunity to celebrate the Veterans at the City of Linden’s Hometown Heroes Program held on Sunday, November 12, 2023. The Linden High School NJROTC unit was established in 1986 and originally had approximately 90 cadets in the first years of its establishment. Currently, the Linden High School NJROTC has an impressive number of about 480 cadets enrolled in the program.

Backpack Bonanza – Linden Library Card Extravaganza

Mayor Derek Armstead and the Mayor’s Youth Commission, in conjuction with the Linden Department of Parks and Recreation, the Linden Free Public Library and the Linden Public Schools present Backpack Bonanza! Linden Library Card Extravaganza!

  • What: Backpack Bonanza! Linden Library Card Extravaganza! Get your free Linden Library Card and receive a backpack and supplies. Enjoy face painting, magicians, balloon art, stilt walkers and more!
  • When: August 28, 2023 from 5pm until 8pm.
  • Where: School #1, which is located at 729 North Wood Avenue. Enter parking lot on Gibbons Street.
  • How: For Linden residents only (proof required or current library card accepted). Child must be present, while supplies last.

Dining to Donate at Applebee’s

Help the Linden High School Class of 2023 raise money for Project Graduation & Scholarships by dining at Applebee’s of Linden.

  • What: Fundraiser for the Linden High School Class of 2023. Every Monday in May, show this flyer while dining at Applebee’s of Linden, and 10% of all sales will go to benefit the Linden High School Class of 2023. The fundraiser is not applicable on alcoholic beverages, tax, and tip.
  • When: Every Monday in May, from 11am until 12am.
  • Where: Applebee’s, which is located at 671 West Edgar Road.
  • How: Every Monday in May, show this flyer while dining at Applebee’s of Linden, and 10% of all sales will go to benefit the Linden High School Class of 2023. The fundraiser is not applicable on alcoholic beverages, tax, and tip.

Ariel Rivas Rosado Scholarship Fund

Linden Public Schools has created the Ariel Rivas Rosado Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will be awarded to a Linden High School graduate each year to honor Ariel’s memory.

Every Monday in January is Fund Day!

Help the Linden Highschool Class of 2023 raise money for their end of year activities. Simply show this flyer to anyone Applebee’s when you dine in or take out on Mondays in January 2023, and 10% of all sales will go toward benefiting the Linden Highschool Class of 2023.
