2023 Annual Community Harvest Event

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, the Department of Parks & Recreation and Morning Star Community Christian Center are pleased to offer a safe alternative to trick or treating at the 2023 Annual Community Harvest Party.

  • What: 2023 Annual Community Harvest Party, a safe alternative to trick or treating. Come and enjoy candy, prizes, contests and games!
  • Where: Linden PAL Building, which is located at 400 Maple Avenue.
  • When: Tuesday, October 31, 2023 from 4pm until 7pm.

Dancing For Cancer Awareness

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden and the Department of Parks & Recreation present Pink Thursday Afterwork Dancing for Cancer Awareness.  

  • What: Pink Thursday Afterwork Dancing for Cancer Awareness. Free mammogram and prostate information. Tony Touch and Dawn Tallman will be performing. DJ’s Tamir, Soulfingers and Robert Andrew will play Latin dance music and Afro dance music.
  • Where: Raymond Wood Bauer Promenade, which is located at 400 North Wood Avenue.
  • When: Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 5pm until 9pm.
  • How: Free event.

STEM Program

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer a seven-week STEM program, hosted by Little Ivy Academy.

  • Who: For ages 6 through 12 years old.
  • What: STEM Program hosted by Little Ivy Academy. The STEM Program is created for elementary and middle school graders of all skill levels! The program opens the door to hands-on digital creation. This generates crafting functional plots and environments for game-play and story-telling.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: Monday, September 25 through November 13, from 4pm to 5:30pm.
    • No class on October 9, 2023.

Crochet Corner

  • What: Crochet Corner hosted by BusyBee Crochet Corner. Each participant will receive step-by-step photo instructions and one-on-one instruction as needed. Crocheting tips will be taught to make this adventure successful and fun.
  • Where: Linden Multi-Purpose Center, which is located at 1025 John Street.
  • When: Tuesdays. October 3, 2023 from 1:30pm until 2:30pm.

Sewing Program

Mayor Derek Armstead, the City of Linden, and the Department of Parks & Recreation are pleased to offer youth and adult sewing programs.

  • What: Youth and adult sewing classes. Classes are grouped by age range.
    • Youth Sewing (ages 8 through 13): students will learn all about basic hand-sewing stitches!
    • Adult Sewing (ages 18 and up): students will choose their own sewing pattern! All details regarding fabric and patterns will be discussed during the first class. Sewing machines provided for use!
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
  • When: Six week program. Every Friday beginning on September 29, 2023 through November 3, 2023.
    • Ages 8 through 13, from 5:15pm until 6:45pm
    • Ages 18 and up, from 7pm until 8:30pm.

Senior Citizen Line Dancing

  • What: Senior line dancing classes. Line dancing for seniors is a fun, healthy and rewarding activity and exercise. Dancing styles incorporated into the class include salsa, ballroom and country western.
  • When: Thursdays, September 14 through December 21, 2023, from 10:30am until 11:30am.
    • No class on November 23, 2023.
  • Where: John T. Gregorio Center, which is located at 330 Helen Street.
